My kugel always comes out gluey. Please give me your not gluey kugel recipe/ideas

I make similar to this.
I use 6 potatoes and add some water, no onion.

I usually bake on 450 for an hour to hour and half until a crust forms. I cover and bake on 275 until we are ready to eat. If I want it sooner, I'll do the second hour on 350.

A foolproof way to get soft kugel not gluey is heating up the oil before adding it to the mixture

9 potatoes
7 eggs
1 cup seltzer (or water)
1.5 c oil
Salt to taste (1-1.5 T)
Bake 450 1 hr
Cover add pan of water under it
Bake 350 2 hours
250 overnight
