We bh can afford basics. Inflation is awful for the middle class.
We live way below our means. Savings is a priority and dh refuses to adjust due to inflation.

Yes, I have been thinking about this all day. I am resentful and bitter about pesach way more than I “should” be because on paper everything is very good but I just feel yucky and depleted, both emotionally and financially. While I was out of the house today a thought occurred to me. What if I had prepared for pesach totally differently? Saved up money for expenses, shopped more strategically, prioritized a smoother process, etc. Would I feel differently?
…. Well, now I have 7 weeks to shavuos, enough time to really think and plan well for ME. I am excited. Sad that I missed the boat for this yom tov, but looking forward to hopefully a better experience.

Same!! I've been building up a stash for weeks. And when I saw the Jewish magazines were $15!!!!! I wasn't even tempted to buy them

Went to library with our hostess and got a few books. Tried not to go overboard cuz it's her card and she's the one who's shlepping them back to the library.
