Anyone else feels this way
When I read a book (fiction) that involves a lot of emotions, I literally feel like the characters (sometimes I get carried away and start to create a story of my own in my mind)
It takes me a good few minutes to let that emotion pass me...

You sound like an ideal reader from a writer's pov. A truly powerful writer makes the reader feel as if s/he is a participant, not just a spectator.

I get so immersed in books that sometimes it takes me days to recover lol. I AM the character.
I read a lot less these days because I become so emotionally attached.
So you’re not alone
