Strawberry - I fully empathise w/ your feelings. About not being able to go away for shabbos, that must be hard. If I had some furniture in my house you'd be invited! (and pending dh's approval of course) lol

Thanks for all the invites. I actually need to scout out neighborhoods for an apartment but dh doesn't want to move to your city. Oh well. Yeah lets have a meet....if I can get myself to show up.

natural solutions. Don't chase away litaot - they love jukim (small) and ants. A chicken or two in the yard is fantastic, they L O V E ants.
To Twizzlers, I hope I didn't offend you. You have no idea of how much we were being hassled by people who have to knock Israeli life. We still have 1 or 2 that live here, but they're ours
Another great thing about Israeli everyday is that there is every type of weather, scenery and all in no more than 2-3 hours away. In the winter you can go to Ein Gedi and shvitz and return to the rain and maybe snow of Yerushalayim. In around an hour's drive.

Both. We obviously have very advanced ants and jookim. In the U.S. our squirrels spoke Spanish, would could not understand them. They learned from the neighbor's gardener.
