I sometimes have these dreams, where at the beginning of the dream I am doing something on my phone or computer, or writing something or taking a shower, and then I suddenly realize (still in dream) that it's Shabbos and I freak out. Then I wake up and realize that I'm in bed not doing any melacha. And sometimes also realize it's not even Shabbos, although usually I have these dreams on Shabbos.
Anyone else experience this? I'd say I have a dream like this once every month or two.
Not really looking for advice, it's not such a big deal, but just curious if other people share this experience.

Yeah I don't have them that frequently but I do sometimes have a dream where I'm on my phone or computer and realize it's shabbos. Like, I never intentionally go on my phone knowing that it's shabbos, it's always realizing retroactively. Always a super horrible feeling and I'm so glad when I wake up and realize it was a dream.
But to me this goes along with all the other dreams where things happen that you work very hard to avoid in real life. Like forgetting/running out of time to prepare for shabbos or YT, or dressing inappropriately to a social occasion (I.e. not tznius or naked etc).

Yes, and for me there's always also the element of realizing it then having to hide it from others.
Like in the dream, it's not a simple me in my house alone realize I'm looking at my phone on Shabbat; it's more like me being hosted at friends' house, realize I'm looking at my phone in their living room and have to somehow sneak the phone back to my room to hide it before they see.
Once in real life, I was at someone's house for lunch, and they had a light switch in a really random and low place, and I didn't see it and leaned against it, turning it on. It was a BIT embarassing, but not humiliating or traumatizing. I think that just goes to show sometimes our fears are worse in our heads than when they happen IRL.

Whew... did anyone else think this thread was about something totally different...?
I’ve fallen into a very deep sleep sometimes and when I woke up it took me a few seconds to remember which day of the week it was.

I have these dreams a lot, that I’m texting on Shabbos. When I was dating DH I always dreamt I texted him on Shabbos. I also dream a lot that I’ve forgot to light on Shabbos and everyone had Shabbos and were in light except me 😔

Lol .
Every time I wake up during the night to take a drink during the year , I'm always half asleep but aware enough to double-check that it's not Yom Kippur or Tisha B'av.

Yes. I also dream--even while I'm awake--that I will eat on a fast day, that I will eat milchigs when I'm still fleishig, that I will walk out with my hair uncovered, and that I'll forget to put a skirt on over my slip. And I actually once convinced myself that candlelighting time was an hour later than the calendar said, because of daylight savings time (I was postpartum and had stuff going on but still...)
