In the U.K. the companies that make tea bags stopped producing tea granules which means that on Shabbos we cannot have a nice hot cup of tea because we do not use tea bags on Shabbos because it is not allowed to squeeze the tea bags.
Can anyone help me out with a way that I can have tea on Shabbos.
Thank you.

Can you make tea essence before Shabbos?

Tea essence.
Put 2-3 tea bags in a mug before shabbos, Add water.
Let the bags sit so it becomes full strength. Ideal is to throw out the bags so you don't 'sift'.
You make the tea with a little bit of essence as if it would've been a syrup.
You can still use the tea if you left the bags there, just don't pour out every last bit of syrup.
(at least that's what we hold)
Another option to do is use keli shlishi water.

Why do you need to squeeze the tea bags?

Another "recipe:" Steep a lot of tea leaves in boiling water before Shabbos. Strain. That's it!
But many hold that you can use a kli shlishi. It's worth asking.

I'm a big tea drinker. On shabbat I just use kli sheini/shlishi and don't squeeze the tea bag.

If you’re going to make tea essence in advance make sure when you use it you first put hot water from urn into cup. Pour the essence into the hot water, don’t pour hot water on the essence.
I noticed both kli sheini and kli shlishi mentioned. There are some poskim who say you can put a tea bag into a kli shlishi. I’ve never heard anyone say a kli sheini is okay.
(The issue is bishul. The crushed tea leaves inside the tea bag are dried but not cooked. It’s possible they might be dried in a way that would make you say they’re baked but yesh bishul achar affiya.)

Thank you all for your useful suggestions.
I just asked DH about a tea bag in Keli Shlishi and he will look it up in his Seforim.
Thank you.

Sorry I didn't refer to tea essence.
Over Pesach I had tea that way but I am English and for me there is nothing better then a tea bag or tea granules for a cup of tea over Shabbos.
Also with Shabbos finishing about 9.30pm and will get gradually later till it finishes about 10.30pm it is too late to wait till after Shabbos for a cup of tea.

I know exactly what you mean. We used to have relatives bring us tea granules from the UK. We should start a tea drinkers forum…
