How would you compare and contrast these two schools, the parent body, the academics, the staff. I understand that they are similar. What sets them apart? Why would one choose one over the other.

I don’t have a son in mesivta yet but from my understanding sharei Chaim is considered to be more serious and more yeshivish. Both are excellent yeshivos and the same types of families. Shaari is more inclined to accept siach boys. Some of the rabbeim overlap in both places and a lot of them are rabbi rands kollel people.
