I will be travelling to Italy - Venice, Florence and Rome at the end of July.
has anyone been to these places and recomend tourist attractions or restaurants?
I already have acomodations.

I can help you w/ Venice. We basically went around venice. Took the gondola (boat) ride around town. Stopped into the shops. We ate in the Chabad restaurant. I have no idea the name, location or phone number. Sorry But if ur going in the summer-whew its hot!! Dress lightly

Im also going in the summer. The only place I am going to be the same as you is Venice. The chabad restaurant is called gam gam- you can google it. if you will be there for shabbos they do free meals on the banks of the canals. yay!!

Bingo-Gam Gam. Now I remember We ate some pretty good stuff there. Although the chicken/meat we ddnt enjoy cuz of the hechsher but the fish and other stuff was good.

I will be in Venice for shabbos, so definately going to the Gam Gam restaurant!!
any ideas for tourism? also, do I need to book the trains from Venice to Florence etc. in advance or can I book before departure?

Best off booking a train in advance on the internet. They can get pretty busy (so I heard). Also, you save money this way.

I live in Israel and I also want to do the italy vacation thing...I heard though that it comes out to be a couple thousand dollars...is it worth it? Did any one here already go and know about average how much they spent?

Venice is so beautiful. I really enjoyed my (too-short) visit there. Definitely go to the Doge's Palace in San Marco Square.

It used to be the ducal residence, but now it's a museum. It has some really cool stuff.
