How many times would you rewarm a cooked food?
I would cook one night, put the leftover in the fridge and the next night rewarm it, and if there was anything left I would throw it out. This is what I used to do. But lately I started putting it back in the fridge again and then rewarm it again the next night. I would never do it with proteins though, only like vegetable soup or pastas.
Is this safe? what do you do? Of course I always smell it before to be more careful.

It really depends on what the food is. Soup I rewarm many times over. Other things I wont - but not really for worry of safety (that I would judge by how many days old it is more then how many times it was heated) so much as it just dries out from so much cooking and tastes awful. For this reason, I try not to overcook anything that wont freeze well - and if I do I send leftovers to work with my husband and everybody there is happy to gobble it up.
