My husband REALLY needs to lose weight - at least 40-50 lbs. We've tried portion control etc but it just doesn't work - he is either constantly hungry or it just doesn't last (too hard to make the food etc). So I think we need to try a real diet with clear guidelines of "do"s and "don't"s that he can stick to. Any suggestions? TIA!!

Adkins is a good diet for men. Read the book or let him read it.

A) if everyone is not doing it it is hard to do
We just went off sugar and are eating whole grains. We dont use any sweetner ie no sugar, honey, sweeten low, etc. the only sweetener we are using is called Agave Necter it is 0 glycimic and can be used cup for cup in recipes. We are also trying to eat for the food pyramid mypyramid.gov so we try and eat the required fruits and veggies but dont worry so much about getting all the grains. B'h I've lost 9 pounds so far and DH lost 14 we've been on the diet less then a month!
