Thank you. Is there anywhere else? Is the standard test usually enough?

Ocean County Health Department, by sunset road and whitesvilee. Takes 5 minutes and its free. They identify the tick, tell you if its likely it was carrying lime( Only deer ticks do) and can tell if its on long, if it bit etc.
Its the first building in the first parking lot ( Agricultural building)
You can also drop off
They give u papers with a lot of info also.
You can test the deer itself, only if it's intact.
Take it to your DR to end to a lab.
Also, if you took the tic off today, you can get a one time dose of Doxycycline to prevent the spread of lime, assuming its a deer tick.

Why don't you Google first before running to test. Many ticks around here are not necessarily deer ticks.

I just had a tick last week ( Toms River) and it was a deer tick.
The PA in Chemed told me only deer ticks carry lime. Also im pretty sure the fact sheet I got at the Health Department.
Other ticks carry a whole other range of diseases ( it was all listed )
You really don't have to run around now, but just get a blood test in 6 weeks to test for antibodies to lime ,and look out for a rash that gets larger by the day.
Good Luck!

If the tick was on your shirt why would you need to test it? The concern is if it was embedded in your skin and could have transmitted Lyme disease
