My toddler has croup now. I heard there is another kid in my son's daycare with croup. And our pediatrician said that croup is going around now. My son has such a scary barky cough. My doctor prescribed steroids and I just gave the first dose. The worst is when my toddler wakes from his nap or in the morning. He coughs so violently. Hoping ths steroids work fast. How long till the steroids start working? Anything else to do for croup?

My dr advised me to put his face near an open freezer. It worked B'H!

We also just had croup in our almost 3 year old and yes it’s terrifying. Bh he didn’t need more than OTC meds but the dr prescribed something in case we needed it and advised us to alternate between cold air (freezer) and steam (bathroom with the shower running).

My toddler has croup now too. Its crazy. I got the steroid medicine too

Mine seems to be getting it quite frequently she’s only 3 she is constantly like this. I’ve given steroids a few times over the course of the year and also constantly on puffers. Steroids usually work pretty quickly depending what type.
