My teenage son is quite overweight and of necessity, wears his suit pants below his belly. Because the pants and crotch ride lower, when he sits, the fabric of the crotch is pulled in opposite directions by his thighs and invariably rips. We've been through three pairs this year... Anyone with similar experience and/or advice? 1. Not looking to do extensive (and therefore expensive!) alterations. 2. Would love recommendations for particular brands and/or types of fabrics of shabbos suit pants that are sturdier. 3. Also seeking related advice re. suit buying: while suit jackets sometimes are available in "portly" or "executive" fits, suit pants aren't, so pants with a waist that's big enough have an inseam that starts too low. TIA!

My very super thin son rips pants that way too .it's also from the way he wears them .it does necessarily have to do with weight.

Tell him to pull them up or get low rise pants.

Maybe reinforce that area at a Taylor before it rips?

I just heard this week there is something called a stretch suit. Hat Box in Brooklyn has it. I have no experience though.
Secondly, my husband has extra material added to his pants in that area. I don't know how much it costs but definitely cheaper than new pants!
