Has anyone converted their crib to a toddler bed? If so at what age? Did you feel it was too high up, did you put something down incase they fell out of the bed? I’m there is a short rail but what if they manage to fall where the rail ends. Did sleep improve with this change from a crib?

I tried it. She kept rolled off/woke up. Her crib converts to a bed. But I don’t want to go through the hassle of doing that if it won’t work.

I would only do it if the child is climbing out of the crib or attempting to climb, otherwise I would wait until about the 3rd birthday or close to.
Convertible cribs are usually low enough to the floor.

The only reason I would do it is to see if it helps her sleep. Sometimes cribs make them feel “trapped” in and I’ve heard floor beds can make a difference. But I was wondering if I can just try to convert the crib.
