Is this normal? He makes up stories all the time and I’m having a hard time differentiating reality from his stories. He does it so smoothly too. We’ve read the boy who cried wolf and Eli and the little white lie and while he loved the books, it didn’t change anything practically…

Very normal
You can ask him if it's a story or did it really happen and explain that it's nice to make up stories and it can feel real.

Yes very normal. My 5 yo has an amazing imagination and he makes things up in his head sometimes. Never know if its real or not.
