Thinking of getting them on Amazon for the sukkah. It looks like there is a solar panel you put out, and they automatically charge all day and turn on all night? Can that be set up for a sukkah you'll sit in on Shabbos and Yom Tov?
(I mean halachically)

We have one in our yard all year round. I never thought it wouldn't be allowed - you are not switching it on and off.
ETA - it's not string lights that I have - it's a regular light to light up the yard and entrance - but same mechanism.

Why would this be a halachic issue?

I think it might be an issue if there's a possibility you could cover the solar panel by mistake - because it will turn on the lights... like if the roof comes down or the solar panel is within reach...

We have solar string lights in our garden. Don't see why the sukkah should be any different, as long as nobody covers the solar panel accidentally, as a previous poster wrote. It' like a Shabbos clock, only by sunlight instead of a mechanic disc.
