Doesn’t that depend more on the family?

Somewhat, but lots of times it's more to do with the specific hall/ manager

In case this is helpful for anyone searching in the future, they were running a bit late. Came at 730 and it was perfect, looked like they were on track for badeken at 750 or so

I find that except for Bais Faiga, I come to weddings at the time the chuppah is called for, and have plenty of time till the badeken.

DD's wedding recently (not in NH) ran 1/2 hour late. We were most definitely ready (do not blame the family!) The Mesader Kedushin was coming in from Brooklyn, and the hall was also running late (the photographer showed up 1/2 hour after us....)

In what way is BF different in this regard - more on time or less on time?

More on time since the music has to be off at 11

Exactly.

My best friend made her daughter's wedding in Bais Faiga because they wanted an earlier wedding, and they knew it would run on time.

I missed her first daughter's badeken by a few minutes. If you aren't there, you miss it.
