My baby is 6 months in 2.5 weeks.
Do I get stage 1 or stage 2?

Are you sure you are able to get Materna now?
There is a huge shortage now in Israel.

Funny how every baby is different. My 7 1/2 month old didn't do well on Materna and is happy on Cholov Yisrael Similac

The hospital uses Similac. So I think it's a good choice.

Hospitals have contracts that the formula companies bid for. Nothing to do with which formula is better.

I believe the main difference between stage one and two is the number of calories. I would get whatever is available unless you have specific concern regarding weight gain. My baby did well on materna.

Materna dissolves more easily, my babies seem fuller on similac. There isnt one better than the other, go with what is more easily availible (as pp says its almost impossible to find materna right now in israel, although in general I find mehadrin materna easier to come by than mehadrin similac). Fyi in israel hospitals offer both companies
