I'm the OP of the "taking my kid out of playgroup" thread. So I sent her back to the babysitter and she bh quite happy. But I would like to buy a new toy or 2 that might be a bit more stimulating than the same old that shes been playing with all last year. There are other children, 12 mos, 6 mos, so can't be anything dangerous. No crayons or papers or stuff like that. Also don't want to spend too much (up to $100 is fine). Any recommendations?

My daughter loves her kitchen toys- pots and pans, doll toys like doll, stroller and bottles
She also loves her fisher price bus and little people
She plays with those things the most

Great age to teach her to play with magna tiles. If you are probably going to buy it when they are older, do it already now.
At the beginning you can teach them to connect them making a 'mat/carpet' or even a 'pizza' with the triangles.
Within a month or two or wait till she starts getting bored from them teach how to build a tower, one on the floor and then a corner. This you need a bit more patience to teach but the hours of self play is worth it.
