Assuming this story is true, what are we going to use them for? We don't have a Beit haMikdash yet. Obviously, after two thousand years, we don't know what condition they will be in, and if they are fit for use. There is also the question of whether they may have been metameh over the years, which I don't know enough to answer.
We do have a supply of keilim for the Beit haMikdash ready in Machon haMikdash. They have been constructed in accordance with full details of the halacha, after extensive study, and are fit for use as soon as we have a Beit haMikdash in which to use them.
When Mashiach does come, the whole world will be falling over each other in their haste to return what they have plundered from us over the centuries. Whatever the source, the Beit haMikdash will be fully supplied.

We want them back! Return the heilige objects plundered! We will use them and their kedusha in the beis hamikdash May it be rebuilt now!

There is no proof that the Vatican actually has these objects.
There are mefarshim that say that the vessels went up to heaven when the bais hamikdash was in flames.
No one has actually admitted to seeing the vessels.
