Hashem we'll keep hoping and praying to you
You'll be like a Father who holds His child's hand
And return us to our homeland
It started in Egypt so long ago
They were the first ones to try
....
But we did not know what was looming ahead
The year was 1492....
Song came to mind now...
Can someone please complete the song.
Learned it in school years ago..

Anyone else here thought it was from Camp Fay-gah?
Wherever we go, whatever we do
The Faygah in us shines right through
Whatever the place, whenever the space (?)
We’ve got the qualifications!

It is originally on a boys camp cassette. I think Camp rayim but could be mistaken. Many years ago!

Throughout the ages
Through torment and pain
we remained Klal Yisroel
A nation that's crowned the AM Hanivchar
we have a story to tell
It started in Egypt so long ago
They were the first ones to try
A nation of slaves, emerged proud and free
Our father paid heed to our cry.
Chorus:
Wherever we go
Whatever we do
H-shem, We will always remain true to you.
They may scar our bodlies,
They may break our bones
But they cannot diminish our souls
wherever we go
whatever we do
H-shem we'll keep hoping and praying to you
That you'll be like a father
who holds his child's hand
And return us to our homeland
II Prospered and flourished as Yidden
in Spain
we held our heads high as A Jew
But we did not know what was looming ahead
The year was 1492
We were dealt with great force
The inquisition was strong
As Catholics they wanted us then
However, our Tefillos pierced through the sky
To our merciful Father H-shem
Chorus
||| It still was the same
we thought we were safe
It took place fifty years ago.
The Germans were cultured
They'll do us no harm
Again, how were we supposed to know?!
So many perished, too many to count
The heart of our nation inflamed
Mekayam Emunaso Leshainei Afar
He guarded the spark that remained.
Chorus
We live in a land
The home of the free
And thankfully, Torah is strong
But we learned our lesson
The message is clear
Is this where we really belong?!
So please, dear Moshiach
How long can we walt
You know all the pain we've been through
Bring us to our country, our city,
our home, Bimheira Veyameinu!

weird. sounds like a takeoff. there was a song by richard marx with this chorus probably late 80's. maybe it was called oceans apart? don't remember anymore
whereever you go, whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you
whatever it takes or how my heart breaks...

Yup. It's been in my head ever since I read this yesterday (although without Google I was gonna guess Bryan Adam's).
I went to Fay-Gah in the 80's thru 90 and don't remember singing the song there...

I was there probably '97-'03 and I remember it from there... So maybe after your time.
