That’s a fair point. It’s also something I noticed from people who were helping pay for things. Like my aunt paid $200 on buying me a fancy garbage can but I’d have much rather bought a cheap one and use the money to buy a better set of cookware.
I hope I don’t come across as ungrateful because I am extremely grateful for all the help I was given. It’s just that I’d do things differently if I were in a position to help out a kallah

Does the kallah qualify for the various organizations?
Many cities have extensive hachnasas kallah programs nowadays, and you should try to tap into those
