I got a 500 NIS ticket for parking on the sidewalk on erev chag.
I parked near a strip of stores where there is never enough parking spots especially before shabbat and chag. There were many cars parked this way simply because there is no other choice.
Is there hope in fighting this or at least trying to reduce the fee?

I would think not. Just because other cars did the same illegal thing doesnt mean you can too.
They possibly all got tickets as well.

There is a lot of bad planning here. Sometimes you have to park far and walk or take a bus.

Sorry, it really is lousy Sad. I feel for you. Same with dropping off gan kids in the morning in certain areas Sad. Bad planning.

From what I've seen on the ask the lawyer Facebook groups, there's no point trying to fight it.

Just for your knowledge, those with a handicap parking card may legally park on the sidewalk or on red/white under certain circumstances, so just because others are parked somewhere doesn’t mean it's legal for you. (I made that mistake too Sad )

OP, you may try to reduce the fee, yes. You need to speak to someone who can give you tips how to make a good claim etc. I have no idea.

So what? Just because it's a shopping center doesn't justify parking where ever you want.
