Is there any kind of disability insurance one can take if a mom needs to care for a child who isnt well and she cant work for a couple weeks? New jersey

Fmla has nothing to do with age of person. People take fmla to care for elderly parents
Fmla is unpaid though.
NY has paid family leave. Does nj ? If so that’s what this would be

Fmla is job protection for specific situations. It gives you certain rights. But it isn't payment or for lost wages.
Disability insurance is a policy you take out to pay you if you get injured/disabled/unable to work. I don't think it necessarily covers if you need to take care of a child.

NJ and Federal both have job protections under certain circumstances to take off work in order to care for a sick family member.
The link that I posted above is for NJ Family Leave Insurance that will pay a portion of your wages while you are out of work taking care of the family member.
These are not only for bonding time before 1 year old.
