HUH? I see pending charge for Gas station on 37th street, in BP, for $100?
The gas charge was way less, like in the $30s. Why is there a pending charge of $100?
I never had this with any other gas station.
"This charge is still pending.
This amount may be a pre-authorized charge and might not reflect the final amount. Some gas stations may send a temporary, pre-authorized charge to your Card. You should see the correct amount posted within 72 hours.
You can't cancel or dispute pending charges. We can alert you by email once this pending charge posts to your account."

Yes they pre-authorize that amount to make sure you can cover as much gas as they give you. But the charge will be the actual amount.

Why only this gas station?
Other gas stations I immediately see the actual charge, not a random amount?

Every gas station does this
They only charge you for the gas you actually take
When the gas was ridiculously high, it used to be $120

Do you normally ask to fill up or give a specific dollar amount?
If you ask for a specific dollar amount (say, $30 regular) then you’ll only see that exact charge
If you say fill it then they pre-authorize a large amount and the actual charge will be whatever the total came out to. Sometimes you’ll see the actual charge along with the pending charge, sometimes just the pending charge until it posts as the actual amount. It’s usually between $75 and $150 and I’ve never not gotten it when getting gas. Not in BP but everywhere
