My kids want to frost cupcakes. Do I just whip up one of those frozen whips and add coloring? Or I have to add other ingredients? Thanks

You can. It will be yummy.
To make it thicker and more frosting like you can add a pack of pudding mix.
Or you can make buttercream frosting.

Not if you're using frozen whip. It's already sweetened

The sugar stabilizes the frosting. You can use confectioners sugar or instant pudding mix.
