I remember when I was a kid, the daughter of the rabbi of my shul learned all of Sefer Tehillim inside with her mother for her bas mitzvah. It seemed like such a wonderful learning project.

And now, my DD is ready to start thinking of her upcoming bas mitzvah, and thanks to all of the Tehillim-saying during wartime, this idea resonates with her and she's enthusiastic to try to see if we can do it. So we're going to start soon and we'll try to finish the sefer together, inside.

I suppose I will start with a mikra'os gedolos Tehillim. I'm no morah but my textual skills are decent. But DD has pretty weak textual skills for her age, and I'm only going to expect her to look at the pesukim, and nothing else, in Hebrew.

I could use book recommendations for:
--An English book that would give me (and her) good grounding in introducing the sefer and looking at it in a zoomed-out way. (Something with an analytical bent more than an inspirational one is what I have in mind.)
--Any other Hebrew mefarshim that really help a person study the sefer in depth.
--Any anthologies or collections of mefarshim in English that DD could read from as we learn together.

Imamothers who teach Sefer Tehillim (and others!), please help!

Thanks!

Can't help with recommendations, but just wanted to say this is such a beautiful idea! Lots of nachas from your daughter!

What a beautiful idea. This might be a good start.
Family Tehillim: The Raksin Edition (Hebrew with English overview) (Hebrew Edition) https://a.co/d/2YlbZtT
It has a lot of info but good for all ages at the same time.

Two free online sets of text shiurim - they each cover selected portions of Tehillim, not entire thing.

Also, this website seems pretty cool, but I'm not familiar with the author: https://nafshi.org/category/tehillim/

I love the translation in the Living Lessons Tehillim! https://www.livinglessons.com/.....llim/
I feel like it makes the meaning so understandable and relevant.
