DS12 has been having some really strange eye movements. Do I assume its a tic and wait it out, do I see a doc? Any and all advice appreciated.

I would consult a doctor and make sure everything else is ok. I wouldn't want to overlook something important because I was waiting it out

If it is a tic then it’s normal to wait it out. Advice is to try to minimize stress and not mention it.
Doctor can tell you if it warrants more checking out.

Please check for strep, it can cause tics in children. It's going around all over now and I'm hearing of so many kids who are having neurological manifestations with it.

I'm in the UK where doctors don't check for strep.

I would see an ophthalmologist to rule out any eye problem. If it's a real issue you don't want to wait it out.

so if the dr won't test for strep what would they test for? My kid had weird eye movements in addition to other things and he had pneumonia. A student has weird eye movements related to a disorder. I don't know what the healthcare is like in England and how long you have to wait to do bloodwork or see a specialist but take your kid to the dr.

Talk to a doctor
Especially if it takes a while to see a specialist or any kind of testing , it’s best to get the process started
