Ones used just for water. No milk
When you wash them, is it with soap and a good clean or just rinsed?

When they get filthy, when I turn on my dishwasher I look round for dirty ones. When they are greasy from meals. It depends

I'm a playgroup morah. I don't understand why I get get sippy cup that clearly weren't washed and filled that morning.
If your child's cup is dirty, you should know that I regularly clean sippy cup with bleach. I get so grossed out from seeing black mold on sippy cup.
Would you drink in a water bottle that's been sitting in your car all week- with a drop of mold in the straw? ( same thing as sippy cup sitting in knapsack all week!)
The only answer possible should be EVERYDAY!!!
thanks for reading my rant, it's my pet peeve!

I voted only when I remember but maybe that was not the right answer... It's if I see it lying around and we're running a dishwasher load. I have one only in his crib that gets no food particles and a couple others around the house and at school that get rotated as we find them. They're only used for water... Minimum once a week but I don't keep track. If they're obviously dirty, I hand wash in the moment.

It doesn't make any difference what the beverage is. Once a mouth goes on it there is bacteria. Definitely should be washed well daily.

Not often enough. I can't put them in the dishwasher because he drinks them with milk and meat. I tried to keep them separate, but it didn't work very well. I'd love to buy new ones at this point, but we use the really expensive munchkin cups.

How do you all handle washing so many dishes daily if you don't have dishwasher?

I mean yes there's bacteria, but it definitely makes a difference. A cup from milk is going to get moldy and have spoiled milk residue in it. My kids chew on toys also, and those don't get washed every day in my house. Our sippy cups are just for bed and we use cups by mealtime, so I voted whenever I remember because it's sometimes daily and sometimes 2x a week, depending how often I see them pretty nuch

I only rinse and refill my dc cup for playgroup the night b4. It's not visibly dirty most days

For water bottles, I rinse and refill every night and keep them in the fridge to prevent mold growth. If it's visibly dirty then I'll wash it better. On the weekend I scrub with soap and hot water and sometimes soak in vinegar water mixture to kill any mold spores.

It’s an extra few seconds to wash with soap if you’re already rinsing.

It's not the soap that takes time, it's taking all the pieces apart and reassembling. It was probably way easier in the old days of hard spouted cups but these silicon straw cups are a pain.

I find that just as important as washing, is leaving it empty to air out overnight. Also prevents mold.
