DH and I were recently discussing his wardrobe, and he mentioned his Yom Tov suit and Yom Tov cufflinks, and I sort of did a double-take as it hit me that I have way more clothes than him, but I don't really have any designated Yom Tov outfits. I have nicer Shabbos clothes and some simcha outfits that I wear on Yom Tov, but none that are basically set aside just for Yom Tov. What about you?

Same shabbos and yomtov are to me the same level of fanciness. Its all one category.

I have my special occasion dresses, business suits, shabbos clothes and then nice night out things. A little black dress is different in a court room (attorney here), versus a Simcha or dinner with friends. To me, it's like having different jewelry for shabbos versus daily, casual wear or Simcha level stuff.

When I read the question my first reaction, wow do people have that. I always used my Shabbos dresses for Yom Tov. Than it hit me, I bought dresses for a close family simchs, which are a bit overdressed for Shabbos so I use them for Yom Tov.
Thank you OP I am grateful for the eye opener.
