Considering different communities in Naussau county but curious about the school busing. If door to door in a car is a 30 minute commute to school, how long extra would the busing consider reasonable for extra stops to pick up other kids.
For example. If live in West Hempstead and go to school Far Rockaway- how long does school bus take? Is it picking up kids in other areas along the way? Thanks!

Each district has their own busing,
so West Hempstead bus will be picking up kids only from West Hempstead and then going to school,
but yes, it will be longer than door to door unless your kid is the last kid picked up and is then going straight to school.

Sometimes districts make deals with other ones.
I had a kid from a Nextdoor district on the way to 5t on my bus.

I've never had that experience in special ed,
there could be even 1-2 kids from a district and they each send their own bus,
maybe gen ed works differently,
and then it would likely depend if you're sending to a school that alot of kids from your area go to or not,
if there are many kids, less likely they would have to work with other districts if they have their own full bus
