My teenage daughter is having friends over all are on a diet
I have no time to buy fruit and cut it up and cut up fruit is too expensive.
What else could I serve that doesn't need so much preparation.

They can each bring one dish that they like (assuming, of course, that you allow other people to bring food into your home.) Then you kill two birds with one stone- they have what to eat, and you get to make a little less food :-)

Grapes and clementines, no need to cut.
Make a platter of grape tomatoes, baby carrots, dill chips (pickles that come already cut up), baby corn so no need to cut to serve along first course.
Salad along main course (ask the girls to cut it up).

Why are they all on diets? That is sad. Can she cut fruit if that is important to her?

That's so sad. Poor girls that they already feel like they need to diet at their age.
Ask your daughter what they like to eat and if she wants to have something time consuming served then have her cut it up herself. You could put out baby carrots and cherry tomatoes and some kind of dip. Ra_mom already suggested easy fruits. Pickles are no work. I buy fresh popcorn at my local kosher supermarket for a relatively healthy snacks that my kids enjoy.

Baked apples either at room temp or kept warm in oven or bleach.

Your dd should definitely cut up the fruit- she can invite one of the friends to come do it with her, and it will be fun. They can also make a salad.
And I agree that a bowl of popcorn is a good idea for noshing after the meal. And we have had success with chips and salsa.

It’s only for after the meal.
Yes it is very sad they are on diets.
They are not fat at all some thinner than others.
I yell at my daughter all the time when she goes through the whole kitchen saying that she can’t eat anything because she is fat, she is not fat and she doesn’t need to diet.
That being said thanks for all the suggestions.
Im going to get grapes and some popcorn and nuts and that’s it. If they want more they will need to bring it themselves.
