I keep on getting post saying that I must buy a tv license or update them that I don't need the license. I once watched a video on prime but otherwise don't use it. The rest of the time I only watch on youtube. Do I need to purchase a license or should I update that I don't need?

No, you really don't need one.
It's only necessary if you watch TV, bbc iplayer or anything live.
YouTube and prime don't require a license.
You can go online and tell them you don't require one and they should leave you alone for the next year.
