I live a pretty active lifestyle - but I have 2 left feet when it comes to dancing.
Are there any dance classes for frum woman in Brooklyn. I would love to take a dance class in any easy kind of dancing (not ballet - too much skill) so I know how to dance.
My husband doesn’t feel comfortable taking a couple’s dance class - even private.

To be honest, ballet is a great way to learn and practice the basics. You don’t have to be scared of it, or feel like if you begin there you have to stay there.
Many other dance styles that “look” nothing like ballet (jazz, contemporary, even hip hop) will reference ballet moves and techniques.
You would practice rhythm (counting and moving to the beat), isolating movements (ex. pointing and flexing your toes), connecting movements (ex. brushing your foot across the floor so that it lifts off the ground with a pointed toe) and other foundational skills.
But most important is that you have fun! Find a genre whose music you enjoy, where the moves make your body happy!
I just wanted to tell you that ballet isn’t that intimidating 😉
