Isn't Coca Cola the same product all over the world? Like, possibly you may even be able to drink it anywhere even without a hechsher?

Not Mexican coke. But other places I’m pretty sure yes.

It's not only the ingredients that one has to be concerned about.
The bottling and canning process can render a product treif.
If they use the same vat at high heat for, say, canned ham and it's not kashered in between, that absorption of tarfus can be released at the high heat of future products.

It’s actually interesting, because it’s made all over the world with different ingredients. When my parents lived in Japan it was wholly different than in other Asian countries. As for the Mexican, it’s made with cane sugar; not sure why it’s trief.

I feel like you were gone for a while. So hi! We missed you!

I used to go to this salad/ pita place in Manhattan a lot. it had hashgacha, not amazing, but it was vegan and good enough for me.
One day when going throw out my plate after finishing lunch, I see a sign in big fat letters. we are no longer kosher. eek.
