It's not only the ingredients that one has to be concerned about.
The bottling and canning process can render a product treif.
If they use the same vat at high heat for, say, canned ham and it's not kashered in between, that absorption of tarfus can be released at the high heat of future products.

I used to go to this salad/ pita place in Manhattan a lot. it had hashgacha, not amazing, but it was vegan and good enough for me.
One day when going throw out my plate after finishing lunch, I see a sign in big fat letters. we are no longer kosher. eek.
