The cost of replacing a septic field is in the area of $20,000.
If I pay with a credit card, does that give me extra protection?
Will my credit card company (Amex) help me, if theres an issue?

The contractor should guarantee his work for a number of years, if your tank is working correctly. The credit card comes into play if someone scams you and takes your money and runs without doing the work. We had tank and fields replaced in 2020 for around 12,000 but we are not near NYC. If you're near long island I think the price is ok.

I just called my 2 credit card companies, Amex and Mastercard.
Amex only helps you dispute charges with merchandise purchased (not service purchases).
Mastercard helps dispute charges for both merchandise purchases and service purchases.
