Can someone please give a rundown on wraps vs carriers that buckle.
Do I need both? Do newborns like wraps more than carriers? What about older babies?
Is one better for your back?
Any specific recommendations on which ones to buy?

I like wraps (and mai ties) for little babies because they're more comfortable for me. I also have a soft structure carrier, I definitely don't use it as much because it's just less comfortable and more bulky. My teen uses it sometimes though because it's much easier to put on. I don't usually wear a toddler on a regular basis, because any kind of carrier is too much for my back and shoulders.
I don't think you need both to start off, but if you can find someone to borrow from first, to see what's comfortable for your body, that's the best.
