Got a new dress with beige background and soft peach/pink/black flowery design. It’s a crushed velvet long dress. Is it ok to wear beige colored tights? Or is that super nerdy? Don’t want to wear stockings as it will be freezing on Shabbos.

Sounds like heeled boot might go better and then you can wear what you want underneath.

Great idea if only I had those 🙈. Assuming I can’t get to that before Shabbos… are the tights out?

I'd have to see the dress, but honestly if it were me and I didn't like the look of the tights and I was going somewhere where I wanted to look nice, I would wear the tights on the way and change into hose when I got to my destination. ( Of course only possible with an eruv).
I generally have a rule when I buy new clothes to make sure I already have matching footwear at home or that I am prepared to buy them together with the outfit. There is nothing more frustrating than having a new outfit you want to wear but can't because you don't have the right shoes.
