My baby is 4, I have time at night and would love to make more money. Should I learn bookkeeping and freelance? What would I do if I have to go on maternity leave- would I need to find a replacement?
Any other jobs I can do an hour or 2 at night?
I am shy, well read, not tech savvy ie no coding etc.

I do bookkeeping not freelance but work for someone -
the competition is huge out there for such work
about maternity leave its fine.. the books dont need to be up to date every day- but there is tax deadlines to meet. Its not a customer service position where you need to be avail all the time.

It’s really hard to confidently become an outsourced bookkeeper just by taking a course. Most of us worked for years for small companies gained a lot of experience in different industries and then went off on our own.
You need to find accountants that like and trust you to send you clients. It’s not something that advertising works for. It’s exclusively word of mouth. That being said it can be extremely lucrative
However you really do need to be tech savvy. Qb is an easy software for basics. But to be a bookkeeper you’ll need to learn how to navigate it way more than basics.
