Bris or Kiddush: $25,000

Doona: $700
Car Seat: $300
Bassinet: $1,000
Crib: $2,000
Diapers: $2,000
Formula: $6,000
Live-in Nanny: $50,000
Night Nurse: $50,000
Health Insurance: $10,000
Other Baby Expenses: $5,000
Total = $183,000 in the first year
(We don't spend anywhere that...)

Same. And they were very generous with a tuition break…
Not every seminary is in it for the money!
Edited to add that their payment plan says to pay every few months thru 2025. We asked to extend that and they said yes.

Same. I also asked that the payment plan be extended and they agreed right away, BH. Will be paying in installments through March 2025, which I think is very fair.

The seminaries are smart. They know people will ask for extensions. If they would have asked to be paid in full by next March people will call and ask for next June. So they ask for this June and then seem super generous when they extend it till March.

Starting to pay from April and being paid up by October is something that only started this year! If we would all protest together, we wouldn't pay before the school year starts! We accept it and do it regardless of whether we can or can't afford it! the seminaries get their way when it's choking most of us!

Did you ask your seminary to extend the monthly payments later than October?
