Why are teen boys going collecting for money on purim?

If it doesn’t happen in your community why do you need to know?
Any thread that talked about collecting also mentioned what they collect for (their yeshivas and schools)

On purim "kol haposhet yad, notnim lo" "whoever stretches out his hand (to ask for tzedakah), they give him"
People see it as a prime time to collect for tzedakah as many won't turn them away empty handed
