I've been married nearly 10 years and we just never got headboards, it wasn't in the budget when we got our beds and the budget hasn't grown much over the years! I think it's finally time but I'm really not sure which color to get. I really don't like beige or brown and I don't love grey either - I love deep vibrant colors, jewel tones, etc. - I'm a winter in terms of seasons. But I also want it to match whatever linen I have (need to update those too, hopefully next year, gotta save up for each thing). And don't want it to be too in your face, I want my bedroom to have a soothing calm vibe. Very small space too so it can't take over the room.

Any suggestions? Is navy blue tacky? Is cream impractical with little kids? I'm totally at a loss and appreciate any help.

How about hunter green? Matches lots of solids and florals, it’s a bright color but still soothing.
Something like this: (emerald)

Navy is nice too, like this:

I was convinced not to get pink, and went with navy blue it is a rich shade and I’m very happy with it. Ultimately only me and hubs belong in the bedroom so you do you and don’t care what anyone else has to say

These are so pretty! What size headboards do you get for 48" beds?

Those are both really nice, thanks for the ideas!! The navy is very up my alley. Unfortunately it's quite expensive but I will look for something along those lines. All the other blues I'd seen were closer to royal blue.

I totally agree, just don't want to limit myself in the future for buying linen especially as I want to replace mine in the near future.

Oh these are beautiful, thank you! It says on the link that this is a bed frame. But I already have box springs, so would this work? I don't know how these things go. Like obviously I know the mattress can go directly on a frame and I could get rid of the box springs but how do I know if it would be enough support? Would the mattress last as well?

For 48” beds you are best off ordering from a frum company. They make the same styles.
