Anyone have very light velvet dining chairs?
How do they wear / clean over time?

Sounds risky to me. If you have little kids in your home at all, I would skip it.

Unless you can get covers for them I wouldn't do it. Reupholstering is a fortune.

It really depends on how you use the chairs as well as the actual material.

I have a very light colored velvet chaise and I got a swatch and tested it by dropping chocolate and tomato sauce on it and then spot cleaning it. I also dropped a bit of face foundation on it as well.

The chocolate and tomato sauce came out perfectly but oddly the face foundation did leave a stain.

My fabric was especially intended to be stain repellent - this was not something added afterwards but part of the fabric itself.

This isn't a dining room chair so I don't know what it would be like if little children were grinding food into the fabric and wiping greasy hands across it continually. 🤷🏼‍♀️
