I can write a long list of medical memoirs I liked. Can you give an example of one or two that you liked so I can make sure I'm on the right track?

Wow, so many good ones to start with!

I have read things like ‘call the midwife’ series, critical care in nursing, some medical fiction and in need of some more ideas.

Really appreciate each one of you that responded. Will be buying a few to start!

Your first suggestion looks interesting to start with.

I tend to lean towards memoirs from drs, nurses, studies etc..

If you are involved in patient care I highly recommend Somtimes Amazing Things Happen by Elizabeth Ford (I even wrote to her and she responded)

Also, in no specific order-

1. Five days at memorial. Sheri Fink (You won't forget this one once you read it)
2. Second opinions and anything written by Jerome Groopman
3. Being mortal, Better, The Checklist Manifesto, Complications - all by Atul Gawande
4. Doctored by Sandeep Jauhar
5. The Surgeons. Charles Morris
6. Cancer Family by C. Richard Boland (very technical)
7. The Emperor of All Maladies (not a memoir but may be of interest if you like oncology)
8. On Call by Emily Transue
9. Cutting Remarks by Sidney M. Schwab
10. If I Get To Five by Fred Epstein
11. Just here trying to save a few lives by Pamela Grim
12. Mercies in disguise by Gina Kolata
13. Healing Children by Kurt Newman
14. Walk on Water by Michael Ruhlman
15. Dead Center by Shiya Ribowsky
