And did you choose it? I thought I wanted a round but I ended up getting an emerald cut diamond in a halo and I’m obsessed. I like that it’s different and the way the diamonds in the halo shine around the center diamond.

Husband and I picked it together.

I’m so glad you love your ring, but halo setting has been popular for the past 20 years so I don’t know if it’s different.

I have the same. All it means is there are 4 prongs instead of 6.

I have that then. never occurred to me it was in a square setting. 6 prong is tiffany setting.

Didn’t get to pick, I really wanted the classic solitaire Tiffany setting. I got a few setting choices and one of the settings was pretty similar so I chose that. DH chose the diamond but didn’t ask me what shape.

Mine is round in a Tiffany setting. No halo or other diamonds in the setting. My husband told me I can change the setting and was planning on doing that, but then fell in love with it and decided to leave it as is.

Round. I didn't choose the stone but I always wanted round. I did choose the setting and I still love it, 8 years later. Its classic, not trendy.

Oval in halo but it wasn't popular at the time and I wasn't trying to be trendy. In fact my mother and aunt tried to persuade me out of it and do a classic round. I actually hate round and all of my stones in my other jewelry pieces are all different shapes.

It's a very delicate halo and the stone itself is gorgeous and color D even though it's under a carat. On a thin pave band.

Mine's round in a Tiffany setting as well and I hate it. I don't mind the clean solitaire look, I do mind the setting. It's low and makes the diamond look small.
I didn't choose and I've never told dh how much I dislike it. I'm hoping to eventually change it.

Not sure if I should start a spin-off. Can everyone post pics along with their descriptions? I don’t know most of the terms used here and would love to get some inspiration for my ring.

Cushion yellow diamond with double halo setting. Love it but I’d like to upgrade to a simpler setting (ideally 3 stone)

Round diamond from my husband's grandmother. (no way I'd want them to spend money on a real diamond otherwise. so I clearly don't have much of an opinion on this topic!)

Marquise is so pretty. I'm thinking of getting a lab moissanite marquise. My diamond is round and I'm bored of it (I didn't choose the diamond, just the setting)

DD just got an oval as well. She picked and designed her ring. I don’t thing she realizes how similar it is to mine. I know better than to point it out. (The dishes she registered for are strikingly similar to mine as well, as is a few of the other statement pieces she has been eyeing for her new home. Shh don’t tell her 🤣)

Haha.
Sometimes it's almost genetic. Mom and daughter like the same nor she grew up with it and has lovely memories and wants to live it and recreate it for her kids.

One of my teen dds tells me how pretty my clothing are and that I should not give it away when I'm done using it but save it for her when she's gonna be my age.
I take it as a compliment and a testament to our relationship (for which I worked VERY HARD. We are as different as night and day. She's copy paste from her father! In looks, height, personality and mannerisms!)

I tell her that when she'll be my age, she might like different stuff and things constantly come back in style so she'll be able to buy similar and not wear my old stuff. 😉🤪
She's adorable.

I have a round cut 5 prong, with little extra sparkly round little diamons down the band on each side. 4 diamonds. I'm sure the setting has a name. I was asked if I like that setting I said yes. It's white gold.
It's been 15 years and I still absolutely love it! Very neat and clean looking. Sparkly and simple.
