$43k as a limudei kodesh teacher working 17 hours a week (plus, plus, plus)

I get free tuition which keeps me in teaching bH.

About 60k from a side job that I also work on over the summer. All in all I work hard with varied responsibilities but I love what I do (most of the time) and I'm grateful to be in a good environment

What do you do over the summer?

25 hours a week
Office job for real estate company...
Hopefully will be more soon because I'm in the process of negotiating a raise rn. I've been there 2 years.
No other benefits but pretty flexible and remote option when necessary (which also means I never take off)

Do you really think so? Most job if not all jobs have a cap to how much you can get paid

Yes, and 43k for my level of experience is quite low in today's market. Teachers are capped way lower than most other jobs especially for the level of devotion and talent required to be a truly good teacher. That feeling of no matter how successful I am at my job I'll never make more than the teacher standing next to me can be demoralizing and lead to burnout. In my other profession, I'm constantly raising my prices as I get more experienced.

That’s a nice salary for 20 hours a week with only 2 years experience.

I work in the Fintech industry, and yes within the tri-state region. Are you working for a frum company? I find that frum companies vastly underpay in this field, in comparison to the tech industry at large.

I don't agree
Most jobs have a limit to how much you can earn
I have done bookkeeping/payroll for almost 20 years for different companies in 3 different countries .

Regarding your last line
You can't compare a business to a paid worker

All true. For me specifically it's difficult to feel that no matter how successful I am teachers make x amount.
