I find shavuos is much much less
No matzah or wine or new foods
We budget for it extra for cheesecake and a meat and don’t overdo the meals milchigs is less expensive too. We have one parve milchigs meal plus being that the nights starts so late we have light night meals.

This year it is costing me 3 plane tickets home (kids off school), a car rental (to visit bubby and zaidy), and a lot of gas and tolls!
At home would be cheaper, just a million cheese cakes, cheese danishes, ice cream, cones, sprinkles, a roast, and lots of fresh produce.
Pesach cost us a miracle, and Shavuos will too.

My camp had us pay up months ago! Shavuous is 4 weeks away, there’s plenty of time to catch your breath

Finalizing kids' summer wardrobes is intense.

I’m with you, OP. I took five no pay days over Pesach so that cuts my next two paychecks in half. My 10,000 cc limit is maxed out from Pesach expenses and I can’t catch my tail financially. I have no idea how we’ll make it to the summer.

Nope. But Shavuos is easier. We just don't do fancy meals or crazy extras. Yes it's an extra 2 Shabbos days in the middle of the week so lower pay and it is more expensive than 2 weekday sets of meals. But you don't need cheese danishes or several cheesecakes. We make 1 cheesecake and then do a basic brownie or the like for the other meals (even dairy ones!).
We don't do fancy summer wardrobes. Kids have clothing that fits and that's all that matters. My son needs some t shirts and I will check clearance at target or old navy or something like that. Thats how I shop- buy as needed not because some fashion designer decided it is a new season and new clothes are out in stores. I also don't buy super season specific clothing like velvet in the winter...

Don't hate me, but - yup, all caught up! There are benefits to dh being called up to multiple months of reserves. Specifically in the form of a bonus right after Pesach.
Although I'm praying we get through summer break the good old-fashioned way, ie, just take the financial hit and hope to make it up by February 2025

Almost, but we also haven’t done very much grocery shopping since then since we have so much from Pesach orders so it’s helping us catch up.

Don't hate me, but I save for Pesach.
Money goes into the Pesach account every month, and I know what the budget is before I start shopping. Now the account is fairly low, but it will build up by next year.
I was once in the store before pesach, and the women in front of me was very anxiously waiting to hear what her shopping cost. When the cashier told her, she looked even more anxious, and asked to split it into twelve payments. She spent the entire year paying for her Pesach shopping.
Effectively, I do the same, but by saving in advance it is a lot more controlled, and I know in advance how much I have available. Even Pesach can be budgeted for.
