Advice please:
What do you do with a toddler who wants exactly what someone else has, but you give them that thing and give the other kid something else, and now he's no longer interested in what he wanted before, and instead wants what the other kid has now? Two of the same doesnt even work, because this kid wants the OTHER kid's thing.

I think it depends on the age if close to 2 u can give a choice, either this stroller or this truck?which do u want?
once they choose "the truck"that's it.if the other child picks the stroller, and he now wants the stroller,u have to get down to his level and explain that when moishie finish playing w/the stroller u can have it. or u can play with this one...
at least in theory...
this is how S.M handles it,,and it works!!!

it depends on the age, but we also do a "5 minute" rule that works very well in our house.
one kid gets a toy for 5 minutes, then the other one. they trade back and forth. it stops some serious fights here, and now they do it very nicely.
