I do. I'm pretty glad I do, a friend of mine had a child that was having serious issues respiratory and having difficulty waking up (I think - happened a while ago, don't remember exact details.) Ended up being Carbon Monoxide the docs claimed they are all lucky to be alive.

Yes we do, it was $11.00 included in the smoke alarm. We finally got one that connects to the electricity, so no more batteries!

They are a requirement for all houses that are sold here, the township comes down before a house is sold and makes sure they are installed properly

Actually, when I recently renovated my house, the town wouldn't give me a Certificate of Occupation until they made sure smoke alarms and carbon Monoxide detectors were installed on each floor.

I have absolutely no idea... it's not something you hear about often... But I think we have a fire detector and my dad says we're the only ones around and the neighbours think it's nuts.

Unless you have no gas lines and no attached garage you should go out & buy one today. What is it like $30? I remember when my aunts neighbors died (well the 2 family members that were home that night - luckily the other 2 happened to be out) from cm poisoning. Go get one.

Yes. I think it is a very important thing to have especially if you have a gas line into your house.
You can buy a very inexpensive one that just plugs into the wall or you could replace an existing fire alarm.
