This Shabbos was gonna be low key...

Fish
Freezer chicken soup
Making chicken and a small salad
Everything else bought

We're eating out Shabbos day.

My brother-in-law just called and asked if he can come with a friend for a meal!

I'm at work today! What is REALLY FAST and can be made when I get home????

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

more chicken, concentrate on salads, using cans of whatever you have available: ie: chickpeas, corn, cook rice, nuke or bake some potatoes
add onions, spices, peppers, tomatoes, raisins, craisins, and whatever dressing you like (can be done after lichtbentshen)

cous cous- cooks in five minutes
potaoes just washed (dont bother peeling) and cut into peices toss with oil and spices and roast
Cook up some pasta- and add a can or jar of tomato sauce serve as a side dish warm with some spices mixed in (this isnt so elegant but guys will eat it) or just toss with some garlic and olive oil
If you have chicken cutlets in the freezer they defrost quickly in the microwave throw on some sauce or spices and bake for 20 minutes.
as for vegies do you have cans of anything. chickpeas, beets, corn form the can all make tasty salad with some mayo and spices
can u run to the store and pick up vegies? a head of cabbage will make a huge batch of coleslaw.

mix the corn and hearts of palm with some mayo, garlic, lemon juice and a pinch of sugar. If you have some parsley either dried or fresh (really anything green) add that for some color.

Toss shredded lettuce with corn from the can, mayo salt pepper

Make a huge kugel, it’s worth it and fills everyone up.

Add chicken breasts to the oven with this sauce: duck sauce, ketchup, salt, pepper, bake for 35 minutes.

Make rice in the microwave (2 cups water, 1 cup rice) mix with mustard and Caesar dressing, corn and black beans from the can.

Buy eggplant babaghanoush, and other dipping stuff.

Now, can I come too?

throw some cut up potatoes under the chicken as you bake it ... that will add a quick easy & filling side ...

make some guacamole and buy some chips to go with it or just make sure to have a lot of challah ...

don't forget dessert - make a quick cake or buy a cake ... have drinks & tea and your good to go ...

and since it's shabbos you always start with wine Drunken Smile everything else won't matter after that ... Wink
